RENAME TABLE

Changes the name of a table.

Syntax

ALTER TABLE [ IF EXISTS ] <name> RENAME TO <new_table_name>

mysql>
create table test(a int);

mysql>
show tables;

mysql>
alter table `test` rename to `new_test`;

mysql>
show tables;
